Dianne Koppisch Hricko

Love of color, the sense of translucent depth and the surprise of the unexpected have fueled my re-entry to dyeing silk. I have spent the last few years working with a variety of printmaking techniques prior to succumbing to the urge to once again make textiles. The images are produced through a variety of resist printmaking and direct painting techniques using dyes and discharges. The richness and variety of silk surfaces, sometimes combined with stitching and fusing, is endlessly fascinating to me.

Three Sheep Studio

My name is Rose Clay.  I am a wool artist with a passion for wool textiles, hand embroidery and traditional wool rug hooking.

I enjoy experimenting with color and hand dyeing soft 100% wool fabric.  Wool is a natural and renewable resource and handles beautifully with the various techniques I use.  I also enjoy the hunt for unique and beautiful woolens.  I use a combination of different wool textiles in my designs.  I will often use crystals, glass beads and semi-precious stones to embellish my pillows, wall hangings and table runners.

I also design Patterns and Kits that incorporate wool fabric.  My designs are original from conception to finished product.

All my work is inspired, created and completed by me, in my Studio, in historic Lititz, Pennsylvania.  My items are also available at ThreeSheepStudio.

Artist statement:  I enjoy the step by step process of "Handmade".
It allows me to slow down, experiment with techniques and ideas and take them to the next level.
My inspiration comes in moments of quietness and the simple beauty of nature.

Victoria Gertenbach

Even though I have spent most of my life living in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, I still find myself looking at the surrounding countryside as if it were the first time that I ever laid eyes on it. I am continuously inspired by the deep beauty of the farmland. I am struck by the grace of the aged lines and odd shapes found in the old, worn and weathered barns that magically still stand. I am in awe as I watch farmers slowly hand-plow their fields with a team of mules, just as it was done centuries ago.

At the same time, I am grateful for the ingenuity of technology, with which makes my life and work easier.

Living in this place, where the past and the present meet everyday, has had a profound influence on my work. I hold the awareness of both worlds close to me, and am always looking for ways to honor and marry the two through my stitched, patched and quilted works.

Artist's Statement:  Using simple materials, I strive to create beautiful and well constructed stitched pieces in order to pay tribute to the past and the present, and to express emotions that I otherwise would be unable to express.

It is my sincere hope that when others view my work, they feel something... a connection of some sort, a bit of comfort, a memory of something almost forgotten, a knowing that they are not alone.

Sue Reno

I am a fiber artist who lives and works in beautiful Lancaster County, PA.  My work featuring landscape images and botanical subjects is inspired by my surroundings, incorporating plants from my extensive organic garden and from the fringes of cultivation. I also work with architectural subjects, and am fascinated with the interplay of man-made structures with the natural environment.

I employ surface design techniques including cyanotypes, heliographic prints, and image transfers as the basis for works that also incorporate unusual and hand painted fabrics, hand and machine stitching, and beadwork.

My award winning work has been exhibited widely in both art/fine craft venues and art quilt shows, and has been featured on HGTV and in print.  I feel very fortunate to have found an audience for the métier that I am so passionate about.

Jane Porter

I am an independent fashion designer, lover of textiles, a weaver, spinner and dyer (natural dyes). I love to create unique accessories with unusual fabrics. I am of Armenian heritage and often incorporate vintage textiles from my grandmothers in my work. I also love collage and working with dry mineral pigments, which allows me to experiment with many different mediums.

The Pre-Raphaelites played a large part in shaping my outlook, as I was an English major in college. I also love cats, big and small, especially Siamese.

Many things inspire me--people who do their best at whatever they do; the art, music and crafts of different cultures; beautiful plants, trees flowers and shells. I enjoy collaborating with other artists and like the energy that is exchanged.

Mission:  To explore, promote and create interesting, beautiful, and cutting edge textiles using natural fibers, pigments and dyes.
